WHO WE ARE
Every year, we represent NYU in a collegiate design challenge to build an off-road car that is to be a prototype for a reliable, maintainable, ergonomic, and economic production vehicle that serves a recreational user market. The students must function as a team to design, engineer, build, test, promote, and compete with a vehicle within the limits of the rules.
Baja SAE
Next spring, collegiate teams from around the world will travel across the nation to compete in Baja SAE competitions. Teams will compete in static events that judge the engineering behind each design and in dynamic events that test each car’s performance. From acceleration trials and sled pulls to the final four-hour endurance race, the vehicles will be pushed to their limits over jumps, drops, muddy terrain, tight turns, and more.
FORMULA SAE
